“CUHK Entrepreneur Day 2018” is a large-scale campus entrepreneurship event organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Alumni Torch Fund. This two-day event features an exhibition showcasing CUHK entrepreneurship projects, a series of talks by CUHK entrepreneurs and investors, a demo area and an entrepreneurship café as well as a pitching competition. Serving as an interactive platform for CUHK entrepreneurs and investors to exchange ideas and also for the promotion of entrepreneurship, the event is free of charge and welcomes all CUHK members and the general public.

Fintech Start Up Pitch Event

To provide an insight into the type of startups in Fintech and available investment opportunities, TiE APAC Fintech Special Interest Group will feature four startups that are looking to make an impact in the financial sector globally.

Blockchain technology and cryptocurrency are now officially supported by the US congress.

The blockchain is "not nearly invulnerable to cyber attack but is revolutionizing the way the world conducts commerce and shares information." - US Joint Economic Committee Report, March 2018

One startup will then be selected to pitch amongst those shortlisted by TiE Chapters (Melbourne, HK, Singapore & Chennai).

Mr. Nathan Gold is a renowned American Demo Coach who has been traveling around the world for training people in various settings. He started his Demo Coach business from April 2008. Until now, he has delivered over 15,000 presentations and 13,000+ hours of 1:1 presentation coaching and training. He has worked in and with small and large companies, including GetAround.com, Glue Networks, Bill.com, Innovation Norway, SanDisk, Kaiser Permanente, and IBM — on designing, scripting and delivering compelling presentations and product demos.

Cyberport Angel Investor Pitch Training

To prepare the readiness of start-up to raise investment capitals, Cyberport Angel Investor Pitch Training, a 2-day Workshop conducted by 500 Startups, will be held on 17 - 18 May 2018. The top 10 start-ups in the workshop will also be invited to pitch to investors on Cyberport Start-up Pitch Day (25 May 2018).
Programme Details and Outcome
• Provide lectures and workshops on the key building blocks of a successful start-up including venture fundamentals, go-to-market strategies, types of investors, venture capital funding, VC decision making, term sheets, negotiations, communications with VC’s, and how to pitch to investors.

HKBU Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2018

With an aim to facilitate immersive learning for a new venture creation, the Business Support Entrepreneurship and Training Programme (BEST) under Knowledge Transfer Office, is going to select like-minded students with their own business ideas to participate in a holistic entrepreneurship bootcamp where participants can form teams, pitch ideas, attend interactive lectures, such as Design Thinking, and workshop conducted by UC Berkeley consultants, receive one-on-one mentoring from industry experts and learn in a collaborative environment. The entrepreneurship consultants from one of the premier institutions in Silicon Valley, UC Berkeley, will fly over to Hong Kong and offer lectures and interactive game-based exercises to our participants. This will be a good opportunity for connecting all the professions together in promoting entrepreneurship culture in the community.
